Florida Vintage Travel & Collectible Show
This June, Fantasy of Flight hosted the Florida Vintage Travel & Collectible Show. It is a gathering of enthusiasts who study and collect items related to Florida theme parks and attractions to buy and sell these treasures. On June 9, Noah’s Light Foundation was invited to participate as a non-profit partner and beneficiary. Throughout the day, interested collectors bid on silent auction items and entered a raffle. At day’s end, there was a live auction. The proceeds of these efforts benefited Noah’s Light Foundation’s mission.
The auctions and raffle were successful ways to entertain the guests and raise funds and awareness for Noah’s Light. Among the various auction items were a scale model of the Disney Magic cruise ship, large Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck Aztec-themed figures, toys from Cypress Gardens’ famous Mold-a-rama machines, and dinner with Ron Schneider, the original voice of Dreamfinder from the classic Epcot attraction, Journey Into Imagination. The raffle prize was a limited edition Vinylmation.
During the day’s event, there were quite a few activities for guests. Many stopped by our table for information about our foundation and to pick up a wristband as they moved around the displays, pin trading tables, trivia contests, and book signing with Ron Schneider. We look forward to next year’s show, which will be renamed the Florida Fantasy Collector Show.
