Noah’s Light Foundation Announces Gifts to MD Anderson Cancer Center Researchers

Noah’s Light Foundation is happy to announce that we are beginning the fulfillment of our mission. We have awarded grants to MD Anderson in support of their visionary doctors in the field of pediatric oncology and innovative research that will enrich – and save – the lives of children with brain tumors.

The first contributions by the foundation support both the research and implementation of treatments that show promise of a cure without debilitating side effects. In December 2012, a restricted gift of $125,000 was awarded to the team led by Dr. Laurence Cooper at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. This gift supports the immunotherapy based Noah Protocol, in which natural killer (NK) cells are used to destroy cancer cells. June 2013 brought another restricted gift to MD Anderson, this time $75,000 to fund the salary of a specialist to operate an F19 MRI. The technology offered by F19 imaging allows more detailed inspection of the patients’ tumors, showing progress made during their treatment. This research is leading to clinical trials in human patients.

After only three years of shining a light on the need for better treatments of pediatric brain cancer, we are making progress. However, these grants are just the beginning of the path to a cure and we look forward to bringing our support to innovative treatments for as long as it takes to eradicate this disease. Our efforts will only be successful if we have support and cooperation from all who care to make a difference. Every gift makes a difference – if everyone pitches in, we’ll have beaten this disease within our lifetimes.
