Team Noah Tops runDisney’s Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 10-Miler Weekend!
Most races, we at Team Noah are overjoyed at the fact that we have runners to support our cause, but during runDisney’s Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 10-Miler Weekend, we are especially happy to announce that not only did Team Noah run, but they also WON! John Miller of Milford Square, Pennsylvania, finished first overall in the Happy Haunted 5K and Garret Drogosch placed first overall in the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler! Congratulations to them both, and to all of our runners.
Before the sun rose on October 5, Team Noah runners and fans gathered at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for runDisney’s Happy Haunted 5K. It would be an exciting race in many ways, as John, a high school senior, placed first overall and his brother Conner, 14, placed fourth overall! But before it began runners made their way into their corrals, where they greeted other runners, stretched and awaited the beginning of the run. Family and friends waited patiently, until 7:30, when the race began. Noah’s Light Foundation’s junior board members cheered and waved signs as each corral started the race.
That night, long after the sun set, Team Noah members again gathered, but this time for a longer race – runDisney’s Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 10-Miler. Garret, a student at Wake Forest University, maintained a pace of 5:20 per mile. Congratulations to Garret, we hope you’ll run with us again! Among over 10,000 participants, Noah’s Light Foundation’s Third Party Events Coordinator, Donna Caruso, finished the race after a long training period.
Team Noah debuted new bright green running shirts for these races that sported our Team Noah logo on the front. The backs of the shirts proclaimed, “We NOAH Cure is Possible!” Many guests and runners approached us upon sight of our shirts, and some runners registered to run with us in our next race – join us, too, and we’ll give you a Team Noah shirt!
Our gratitude to Team Noah members and their supporters is boundless. Through all their fundraising, enough funds were raised to support a patient’s care in the NOAH Protocol. This gives a child with brain cancer a chance at a long, cancer free life and free from the devastating effects that conventional cancer treatments cause. Thanks to Team Noah’s performance in the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 10-Miler Weekend, we NOAH cure is possible.
