Team Noah Conquers the Challenge

One dark and stormy day, Team Noah runners answered the call to live up to the challenge: runDisney’s Expedition Everest Challenge. Each and every runner prepared the best they could, but the rain and lower temperatures certainly did add to the test. However, the atmosphere was bright and sunny, even if the weather wasn’t, and Team Noah prevailed.

Early in the day, a family of runners banded together to solve the clues of a scavenger hunt in the soaking rain. Team Nosnhoj ventured into the rain and drenched themselves while collecting and solving clues. They completed the course and celebrated near the finish line with our cheering Team Noah volunteers.

Runners for the evening race huddled together to keep warm in the rain and cooler temperatures. We had a great opportunity to meet our team members before the race, and we had a great time chatting with runners and their family members. One of our great runners is Katrina, who is a brain tumor survivor herself. She shared with us that she had finished her radiation a year before the race and had just been given clearance to run. Her run and her Disney vacation with her mom was a celebration of her health and wellness.

As runners prepared for the race, they headed to their corrals in great spirits and got in the “zone” for the run. The race began and before we knew it, we started to see Team Noah runners finish their 5K portion of the run and begin their scavenger hunt. The earliest finishers overall were our youngest competitors, Luke and Chloe, who are middle school students. Runners greeted us at the finish line, some on their own, some in teams, and we celebrated by taking photos and rewarding them with Team Noah medals.

Our team for this run was twice as large as last year, which means our messages of team spirit and hope for a cure are spreading. We hope our runners feel fulfilled by the accomplishment of their goal to fundraise for a cure and their goal to achieve their best in the race. Thank you to our runners for all of your hard work. And remember, with your help, we NOAH cure is possible!
