Congratulations, Amber!
Amber spent time among the stars of NASCAR earlier this month, attending Champion’s Week in Las Vegas as a finalist for the Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award. She and the other finalists, Daniel Noltemeyer of Best Buddies, Kentucky; Tammy Anderson Lee of the Autism Society of San Diego and Chris McElwee of Michael’s Way, attended a variety of receptions and events to make their VIP experience memorable for a lifetime. They met Mrs. France and other NASCAR dignitaries and many of the top drivers of 2014.
The final night of their stay, Amber and the three other finalists attended the awards dinner, which was televised nationally on Fox Sports 1, hosted by comedian Jay Mohr and featured several prominent celebrities. The winner of the award was Daniel, who was honored for his work with Best Buddies Kentucky. Amber had forged a meaningful friendship with Daniel during their week in Las Vegas, and she congratulated him wholeheartedly.
Noah’s Light Foundation is honored and happy to be the recipient of $25,000 from the NASCAR Foundation. We plan to use these funds to strengthen our mission to cure pediatric brain cancer. Together with Amber, our Foundation thanks all of those who voted, shared Facebook statuses, retweeted Tweets and showed overwhelming support for us during the voting period. You shined a light on the need for a cure, and you made a difference.
