Muggles and Miles
Real world problems, such as childhood cancer, require more than just the wave of a wand to conjure a solution. However, to paraphrase a great wizard, help often comes to those who ask for it. Noah’s Light Foundation has been asking for help in our quest to cure pediatric cancer since our beginning in 2010 and recently we were offered help in the most magical way.
Hogwarts Running Club, an organization that supports worthy causes through its “Harry Potter” themed virtual runs, learned about our Foundation and waved a wand or two in our direction. The Patronus 5k, in which runners participated beginning in October of 2015, helps children and families travel to Phase I clinical trials that are far from home by helping to support our Noah’s GIFTS program. When runners’ contributions were tallied, Hogwarts donated an astounding $95,000! They presented us with a check at our WDW Marathon runner gathering.
In the words of the Hogwarts team, “We are simply a community of Potterheads who are interested in getting fit, collecting some awesome HP bling, and changing the muggle-world one mile at a time.”
Thank you, Hogwarts Running Club, we hope to save children’s lives with the help of your generous members! Join us in “liking” their Facebook page, and support them as they have supported families fighting pediatric brain cancer.
