Running the Marathon to a Cure for Childhood Cancer

Of all athletic events, the marathon has the most daring, enduring reputation. Which is why every year, when the Walt Disney World® Marathon weekend rolls around, the Noah’s Light Foundation staff is amazed that so many people run such a far distance. Especially those who not only trained to run 26.2 miles, but also took the time out of their schedule to fundraise for a cure for childhood cancer.

Each race of Marathon weekend, from the 5K to the full marathon, had a contingent of Team Noah runners, some who were participating in the Goofy Challenge (half and full marathon) and the Dopey Challenge (5K, 10K, half and full marathon). They brought to the race courses their Team Noah spirit and added our bright green presence to the crowd of runners.

While gathered at our team dinner, runners and staff talked about their experiences in training, fundraising and their readiness for the coming races. Then they were given personalized footprints, which symbolized their journey along the path to a cure for childhood cancer. One highlight of the evening was the presentation of a donation from Hogwarts Running Club, who made a donation of funds raised through a virtual run.

We are grateful to all of our runners and the donors who supported their campaigns. Thank you all for carrying us toward a cure.
