Young Artists Shine a Light on Pediatric Cancer
In working toward a cure for pediatric cancer, we often get caught up in the day to day. However, there are times when the reality of our mission offers Noah’s Light Foundation a reminder of its urgency. Recently, Pearson, a young man from Celebration, Florida, lost his battle to medulloblastoma, the same type of cancer that our Founder, Noah, battled. Pearson was a student at Celebration K-8 School and a member of the Kabloom After School Art Program.
The students from this program took on a large project to give back to their community. They created over 200 unique, handcrafted ceramic bowls and sold them on May 10 at the Celebration Art and Wine Stroll. After the event, the children calculated the sales total and voted on one of three charities to receive the proceeds from the sale. After learning about the work of Noah’s Light Foundation, and knowing that work like this could someday help those like their friend, Pearson, they voted to donate to our Foundation.
We are grateful to Kabloom Arts, its students and art teacher and Kabloom owner, Cindy Bohn for their generosity. The result of this sale was a donation of $700, which will help us support The NOAH Protocol. This protocol opens as a Phase I trial beginning in July, helping children who have brain cancer receive hope in the form of immunological treatment. Thank you all for your donation and for shining a light brightly, just like Noah and Pearson, on pediatric brain cancer. With your help, we NOAH cure is possible!®
